I've recently opened a Twitter account and I've decided to follow up some companies which I feel connected with and I would like to share them with you!! The first one is of course UCRiverside! I've chosen it because I am attending this University and I want to follow their events and news. The second one is a reminder of my past: Vodafone IT! I've chosen it because I spent 2 years working in the sales department of this mobile company. The third one is the Italian Institute of Culture in San Francisco; I've chosen it because in 2 weeks I'm starting an internship at this Institution and I am very looking forward to doing it! The fourth one is Apple, I've chosen it because I like their products and I have some of them and I am a fan of Steve Job's personality! Last, but not least, I'm following STA Travel US. I've chosen it because I really like travelling and I am a member of this company. I hope to gain more information about these companies on Twitter...let's see what happens!
I will write about some of the awesome places that I visited since I moved to California, hoping to push you to start travelling and understand its magic!

Welcome to the era of the 4th screen
The 4th screen is nothing but mobile communication devices, that is to say smartphones and tablets. The other 3 screens are the cinema, the television and the game console. For few years we have been exploring the dawning of i phones and i pads on which consumers can download many different apps. An interesting information service is the Location-based Service. This service can locate a person and an object, including finding the nearest Starbucks or ATM machine! The result is that consumers are always connected online and on social networks. This constant connectivity impact marketing because customers can influence the general opinion by posting some reviews or episodes that happened in regards of a company. So, for example, people in line a lifelong to be served at Walmart can easily tweet how bad is their costumer service with an immediate negative impact on the company and since social networks can reach million of people in few hours you might want to pay attention to. It is convenient therefore, to create ad campaigns which are fully integrated, including mobile platform. This is a great opportunity for marketers which can reach a wide range of consumers but, in order to be really effective they should use a more targeted approach and mobile marketing should appear personalised. Speaking about tablets expansion it is easy to understand why people adopt them quickly, they are symbol of social status, it is lighter to carry than a computer and you can also use it as a phone or a camera! Nevertheless, there is still some resistance. This is due to the high costs of the product and that people do not really feel the necessity to carry a mixture beetween a giant telephone and a tiny pc. Anyway I think it is just a matter of time!
ROI= $$$$$
The acronym ROI stands for return on investment, which equals to the gains of your investments minus its costs divided again by the cost. It is usually easy to measure the ROI for commodities but it takes more effort to analyze whether a social media campaign is effective or not. First of all, to understand if we increased gains using online social networks we have to know where we started from. That is why the first step should be to measure on a chart where we are starting and compare the before and after social media situation. The change between before and after is usually named delta. The second step should be to establish a timeline monitoring what we constantly do and track it online. We are going to lay out the sales, the number of transactions, the number of old and NEW customers. Last but not least, we should measure the frequency of transactions, how many new and old consumers we reached and how much they spent on every transaction!
Let's brand online!!
To create someone's brand image online it requires sacrifice and commitment. You have to try to post about yourself in order to help people understand your interests and your personality! That is very important because social media give you a direct and wider way to introduce yourself to companies, that is why it is good to control and monitor your pictures and your posts!

The power of social media...
Social media are extremely powerful resources for priceless advertising and public relations and it has revolutioned the way that companies do promotion these days. Online you can read reviews and feebacks from other consumers who are just like you (age, common interests) who has no reasons but tell the truth about a product or an experience and obviously people trust them more than advertisements or celebrities that are paid! Social media have to be part of one company's strategy but you have to know how they work to exploit their potential and turn it into beneficial and positive for your interest. Indeed, you have to attract consumers to your page and website without bombarding them with posts, otherwise they will eliminate your contact.
Social Media...Why???
Among the various subjects that I could choose in my Post Graduate Diploma, I decided to attend one class in Social Media Marketing. Nowadays millions of people use at least one social network for personal use to keep contacts with people but it has become deeply important for business and companies. Since I would like to work in the marketing department it is very important that I keep myself updated with the last trends and I deeply think that social media revolutioned the way to do business these days. I hope I could give my support to the company I will work for studying what for me now it is only a social network for personal purpose like Facebook and improve my conpany's marketing, brand reputation and communication!
